Robert G. McCoy, Esq.

Bob's practice is concentrated in asbestos and welding litigation. He has served as lead trial and appellate counsel in asbestos and welding cases. He was part of the trial team that won the first welding rod case for manganism poisoning for VCLO. He also has trial experience in complex commercial litigation. Bob also specializes in American Indian law. He has two sons.

Bob received his law degree from Harvard University Law School in 1977. Before attending law school, Bob earned his A.B. from the University of Illinois-Urbana.

His published works include The Doctrine of Tribal Sovereignty Accommodating Tribal, State, and Federal Interests , Harvard Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review , Vol. 13, No. 2, Spring, 1978 and Cohen's Handbook of Federal Indian Law (Contributing Writer), 1982 .

Bob is admitted to practice law in the states of Illinois, Wisconsin, and Missouri as well as in the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Central Districts of Illinois, the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin, the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana, the United States Tax Court, and the 7th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals. He previously practiced law at Winston & Strawn in Chicago from 1978 to 1986, and clerked for the Honorable William J. Holloway of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.

Bob is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and The Association of Trial Lawyers of America. He is a former member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and the Seafarers International Union.
